Claes Iversen is considered one of the most talented young designers in the Netherlands. His collections, which continuously balance between ready-to-wear and haute couture, are modern re-interpretations of classic women’s garments without being a cliché. Iversen is known for his ultra feminine silhouettes, luxurious use of materials and an eye for details combined with a large dose of understated non-Dutch glamour.
Iversen graduated at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague in 2006. His ambition was already recognized during his 3rd year when he won the ‘BLVD Modeprijs’ and was offered an internship at Viktor & Rolf. In 2008 Iversen received his master’s degree at the Fashion Institute Arnhem while presenting his graduation collection at Paris Fashion Week. In that same year he presented his first collection as an independent designer at Amsterdam Fashion Week and won the ‘Marie Claire Prix de la Mode Award’ in the category ‘Best National Designer’.
