Contemporary Arts from the Middle East and North Africa at the Dancing on the Edge Festival

This year’s fourth edition of the DOTE Festival hits Amsterdam’s De Brakke Grond from 14 to 17 November 2013, celebrating the Middle Eastern and North African arts and culture, together with over 60 artists from countries including Palestine, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Iran, Syria and Egypt.

The 2013 edition of Dancing on the Edge focuses on contemporary art and includes four disciplines: Arts & Mind, Dance & Theater, Installation and Music.

The festival puts a spotlight on Iranian artists, such as the expressionist mime work of Reza Servati , the meditative Sufi interpretations of Ali Moini and the contemporary dance of Mohammad Abbasi. This year Dancing on the Edge also presents three Arabic-language performances with English subtitles.

The Dancing on the Edge programme can also be seen in Enschede, Den Haag, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Groningen.
