Last week, Tall Ships visited Delfsail in Delfzijl, north Holland. Tall Ships fairs are a major attraction for many people enjoying looking at classic full rigged ships sailing or docking. Just like a glimpse to a romantic period where tall and fast ships dominated the oceans enabling mankind to travel and explore far countries and continent but mainly boosting trade and prosperity.

The Netherlands that historically played a major role in ocean trade and exploration is usually represented in such maritime events by tall ships such as the Bark Europa, Stad Amsterdam and other beautiful ships. In Delfsail that was a magnificent event, you could see some of the most famous tall ships such as the Russian SEDOV and MIR, Polish Dar-Moldziezy and other famous ships and replicas. We are anxiously waiting for Sail 2010, a year from now, when many tall ships will visit Amsterdam.
