Once inspired by Cecil Taylor's trio of 1963, Von Schlippenbach, Parker and Lovens quickly found their own way: one of pure improvisation in which they have set the norm for over three decades. Three brilliant musicians, each of them with an explicit style and a rich arsenal of mutual experience. Their CD Swinging The Bim, which was recorded at the Bimhuis, earned a top rating in the authoritative Penguin Guide to Jazz. ‘A terrific ride from start to finish' (BBC). ‘Sheer untrifling intensity' (Penguin Guide to Jazz).
