The tenth edition of the African cultural festival will take place from 14 to 17 November 2013 at the Bijlmer Parktheater and MC Theater – Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
The agenda includes special performances and masterclasses, urban and contemporary music, theater, dance, poetry and exhibitions from unique African artists from the Netherlands and around the globe.
Afrovibes 2013 focuses on pieces created by young African writers, choreographers and directors. The highlights include Between Us, where Fana Tshabalala focuses on the developing friendship between two strangers who meet in a city jungle inhabited by uncertainty, fragility and dependence. Wake up combines Brazzaville street dance with urban dance from Johannesburg.
The Afrovibes Festival Café will be the place to meet festival artists, have a drink and African food, while enjoying the Fringe programme, talks and short performances.
