Amsterdam summer eventually living up to its promises?

Until now Amsterdam summer has led its residents almost to despair. Luckily it has returned and brings us at least the idea of how a sun-kissed summer could have been. Therefore, Amsterdam’s calendar does not fail in providing us with a variety of events inviting everyone to seize every day at its best. 

Sunset Film Festival

Already mentioned was the Amsterdam Sunset Film Festival featuring an outline including classical several films. From 29^th July onwards until 27^thAugust film classics will be screened on every Friday night in the Vondelpark, Amsterdam.

Amsterdamse Bos Open Air Theatre

Beyond that the Open Air theatre comes alive as every in summer. This year, Les Enfants du Paradis, based on a text by Jacques Prévert is staged in the Amsterdamse Bos. Do not forget to bring along a picnic basket and enjoy an idyllic theatre experience. Although the piece is in Dutch, also non-Dutch speakers are welcome since English, French and German translations of the piece are handed out.

Parade Theatre Festival

A manifold choice of artistic surprises including live music performances and a range of exciting activities are brought to you by this summer’s Parade Theatre Festival. This unique fun event has started on 16th June in Rotterdam and will come to Amsterdam on 5th August when it arrives in Martin Luther King Park. 

Theatre performances are in Dutch, but this not a reason that should hold non-Dutch speaking visitors from mingling with the masses. The unique atmosphere, being surrounded by artists and culinary delicacies guarantees a memorable experience for young and old, no matter the nationality.

This venue’s Sunny Reggae Thursdays promise you the beach party vibes that you’ve probably been missing for a long while.
