Although this summer’s weather has left the Dutchmen in the lurch so far, the city apparently does not intend on cancelling the open-air film event of the year. The Sunsets Fillm Festival looks back on 23 successful years during which it has established itself a name as a real open-air institution, realized by the EYE Film Institute in the Vondelpark, Amsterdam.
The atmosphere is remarkable and suits any film genre. As the movie presentations are taking place in the Vondelpark, nature will contribute to a unique experience with shadows and a hopefully to too cool summer breeze. Hence, it is the ideal setting for seeing and enjoying film classics on a great screen. As EYE plans on moving the festival to Amsterdam Noord this will be the last year that it is hosted at Vondelpark.
From 29th July onwards until 27th August film classics will be screened on every Friday night. Thanks to the collaboration of the EYE Film institute with the Vertigo Café/Restaurant your comfort is ensured regarding the perfect leisure evening with cold and warm drinks provided that if necessary will warm you up.
The full program reveals a variety of classical films. Tickets are available one week before the show or on the night itself at the EYE ticket desk.
