10 Days Downtown

From 18 to 27 January, Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam is organizing a 10-day fashion platform of 10 public events at 10 cultural venues. Every event will show fashion in relation to another creative discipline, such as film, music, crafts, theatre or art. Rooms dressed like models will take place in the Hotel The Exchange on Day 2. Bloggerscafe in collaboration with NRC Café and Fashionchick on Day 3 is where fashion bloggers will be lectured on fashion journalism.

Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Catwalk

Thirty fashion shows will be organized from 23 to 27 January around the Westergasfabriek, where young aspiring talents and established fashion designers will present their Fall/Winter 2014 collections. The catwalk programme includes the Dutch brand Mattijs Bergen, Aziz Bekkaoui and Atelier MariaLux, Italian designer Lucia Russo and New York’s Beth Pilger. Visitors can also see the L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Show.

Fashion LAB in ‘Transformatorhuis’

Amsterdam FashionWeek’s Fashion LAB is where young designers will be trained in commercial skills and expertise in order to build a successful fashion brand, by some great talents like Jef Montes and David Laport. This way the organization aims at developing the fashion industry further and improving the climate for innovation in the Netherlands.

Fashion in Business  and ‘Keys to Success’

In this year’s edition of the FashionWeek, the focus is on sustainability and the development of new business models. As a part of the ongoing Business Programme, the network event ‘Keys to Success’ will take place on Monday, 27 January.

Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek will once again bring together fashion lovers and professionals from fashion and related industries, sharing knowledge about style, design, class and innovation.

“Within the international calendar of fashion weeks, Amsterdam’s own outspoken character will be noticed.”- says Rob Zomer, director of Fashion Week Netherlands, “What can be seen here both on the catwalks and in the city, and in which fashion lovers play their part, cannot be seen in any other fashion capital.”
